Fractional CFO FAQ
What is a fractional CFO?
A fractional CFO is an experienced chief financial officer who works with your business part time. You get senior financial leadership, such as planning, forecasting, reporting and decision support, for a set number of hours or days each month instead of hiring a full-time executive.

It depends on the scope of work and how much time your business needs each month. Most engagements are a predictable monthly fee and cost a fraction of a full-time CFO's salary and benefits. After a short conversation about your needs, I'll propose a clear scope and fee.

Common signs include growing quickly, cash feeling tight even when sales are up, planning a new location or service line, preparing for financing or a sale, working with private equity owners, or simply not trusting the numbers you see each month.

A bookkeeper records transactions and a tax accountant prepares tax filings. A fractional CFO looks forward: building budgets and forecasts, managing cash, designing reporting and controls, and helping you make decisions. I oversee bookkeeping processes and work alongside your bookkeeper and tax advisor, but I do not perform bookkeeping or prepare taxes.
